Artist Statement
Michael Webb is a multifaceted artist whose journey traces a rich tapestry through St. Louis, Chicago, and now, Kansas City. While the heartland rhythm of St. Louis laid the groundwork for his artistic sensibilities, it was the bustling streets of Chicago that ignited his belief in art as a true vocation.
Specializing in digital/graphic design, Michael also displays an adept touch in painting and photography. His works often resonate with structured geometric patterns, a testament to his penchant for 'Hardline Mechanical' styles. Yet, Michael's artistry doesn't shy away from embracing more fluid illustration techniques, offering a balanced juxtaposition that intrigues the viewer.
Landscapes under the vastness of the night sky hold a special place in his creations, and Michael effortlessly weaves pop culture references, political statements, and humor into his fine art pieces, creating a tapestry of thought-provoking narratives. For him, setting defined stylistic rules is more than just a creative approach; it's a philosophy that allows him to craft cohesive art series, ensuring each piece, while unique, shares a kindred spirit with its counterparts.
In Michael's world, art is both a reflection and a statement, a blend of tradition and modernity, seriousness and satire. And as he continues to evolve, he invites viewers to find joy, introspection, and even a chuckle, in the stories he tells through his works.

SPECIALTIES
MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia and Graphic Design are my bread and butter. I've been a consultant, a freelancer, and a full time employee developing graphics for a wide variety of projects and clients.
PHOTOGRAPHY
I have always been a photographer. I had access to a dark room in high school and was doing special effects photos involving plastic models which I would photograph and mask off to add flames or lasers. This was around the time of early Star Wars movies. I mostly do landscapes and things are easier these days being digital and all.
ILLUSTRATION
I develop digital drawings of people and props using photographs as reference. My inspiration includes pin up drawings and WW2 Nose Art found on the fighter planes of that time. I also found inspiration from the pop art of the 1960s.
